About

Kihon Press was founded in 1998 by Joe Maurantonio after twelve years of writing professionally for small newspapers and national magazines. His experience includes writing articles, working with translators, editing magazines, and publishing newsletters. These led him to create a small publishing company. Kihon Press joined the publishing world with the international release of the translated book, Ninpo: Wisdom for Life by Masaaki Hatsumi. KIHON (Japanese for "foundation" or "basics") was chosen as our web site and publishing name because it was a good place to begin this adventure.

Below is a list of current Kihon Press titles, a short description of each, and a link to where they can be purchased. Thank you for your interest!
